How It Works
1. Subscribe
Sign up to the 12-month course and you're in. You'll immediately receive a welcome email and an invitation to join The Potting Shed, our private online community. Your digital Welcome Module unlocks, and within 24 hours and your first parcel including seeds, printed instructions and a chatty letter will be posted to your door.
2. Follow the Monthly Modules
Each month focuses on one flower and one or two practical growing skills. Your seeds and printed instructions arrive first, then the online module unlocks — with step-by-step guidance and how-to videos to walk you through each stage of growing.
3. One Flower. One Skill at a Time.
The course is designed to build knowledge gradually and practically. Every flower variety is chosen because it’s easy to germinate, and/or easy to grow, and because it’s reliable, forgiving, and suited to Australian conditions — you’ll develop real skills without the overwhelm.
4. Grow Flowers You're Proud Of
Within a few weeks, you'll be sowing. By next month, you'll be thriving. By the end of the year, you'll be a flower grower — with a genuine understanding of everything from soil preparation and sowing through to germination and harvesting. Skills for a lifetime of growing.
Open. Watch. Sow. Grow.
Growing flowers is as easy as opening an envelope, and watching a video while the kettle boils.
You want flowers on the kitchen table.
Not from the supermarket. From your own garden. Flowers from seed. Grown by you.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Absolutely. This course is designed for people who have never picked up a packet of flower seeds in their life. It's also perfect for those who have tried before and failed, or who simply want to properly understand what they're doing. We start at the very beginning and build real skills one at a time.
-
Yes — if your balcony gets 5–6 hours of sunlight a day, ideally morning light, you can grow beautifully in pots. Even students with a garden often choose to start in pots. It's a great way to begin.
-
Less than you think. Setting up for a new season takes one trip to Bunnings or your local garden centre. After that, around 10 minutes once a month and a few minutes each day is all you need — easily done over a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
-
Item descripYes, absolutely. Due to quarantine restrictions, all twelve months of seeds are dispatched together in a single Express Post parcel at the start of your subscription, rather than monthly. Everything else — your printed instructions, digital modules and community access — runs exactly the same as for all other subscribers.ion
-
No. All digital lessons are self-paced — read and watch when it suits you. Seeds and printed instructions arrive each month with a generous planting window. Miss by a week or even a month? You'll be just fine
-
Yes. The course is tailored to five different Australian climates, and every flower variety has been chosen to be beginner-friendly and suited to Australian conditions. What you receive will be right for where you live.
-
It happens, and that's okay. Seeds last years in a sealed container in the fridge. If you need to step away, skip a few months and come back when you're ready. Your printed instructions and emails are yours to keep — and founding members enjoy lifetime access to all digital resources, regardless of the introductory price they paid.
-
Item descriptioDue to the nature of both the digital content and physical seed deliveries, we are unable to offer refunds once your subscription has begun. That said, this course has been designed from the ground up to set you up for success — every flower variety chosen for reliability, every module built around real beginner questions, and a whole community behind you if you get stuck. We want you to grow, and we'll be with you every step of the way.
